What are those round things in my pictures?
Chances are they are false orb photos.
Lets recreate false orb photos.
Using both digital and 35mm cameras
use film with a ISO 400 or higher in both digital(if poss) and film cameras-
Dust-Indoors-- try shaking out a rug, or beating on a cloth couch to create some airborn dust particles.
Snap off several photos from several points in the room with lighting changes. Use digital and 35mm cameras for various perspectives and attempt in both day and night time.
Dust-Outdoors--Stir up some gravel and take photos with both types of cameras. Shake shrubbery,or during spring time, pollenating bushes and trees during day and nightime.
Rain/Snow--Rain is another great way to take photos in, as many
people who do take outdoor photos, even with little rain, can get false orb photos.
Rain, or moisture can give the appearance of a moving orb shooting upward and is often
shaped like an ice cream cone. When wind is present during moisture or rain, the orbs will also appear to be shooting sideways.
Smoke--Lighting a bit of paper, or cigarette, then taking several photos capturing the smoke will give the illusion of paranormal mist. Car exhaust also will give the same illusion. Do this outside during the day and then again at nightime.
Wind--Wind also can give the impression of moving orbs if theres dust or debris in the air. Try using both cameras outdoors when there is wind present.
Sun Light--Sunlight will also create false orb photos if your shooting towards the sun. The sun will bounce off the lens
creating a line of orb like patterns that are generally lined up. Lenses will often lend to false orbs
because of the curve in the lens. If your shooting with the sun to your back, be aware of reflective
surfaces that the sun can reflect off of to create bright spots of non paranormal anomalies.
Bugs--From the dawn of man, bugs have been a factor in our daily lives. In paranormal photos, bugs play a big part of the false/positive paranormal anomalie
capture. From March through til November, bugs flying through our photos and videos can seem pretty exciting when we think we've captured something great. Take both daytime and nightime photos outdoors when the bugs are present. I think if you take enough, you'll be a little surprised as to how spooky bugs can be, in photos.
Being aware of what can cause false/positive orb photos is something that every investigator has to know. In most cases, what seems to be paranormal, probably isn't. Capturing the paranormal happens about 3 percent of the time in pictures, and knowing what can cause
false/positives will save the group time in going through the data collected by the team. The jury is out with many groups and experienced investigators on orb photography, as there are so many things that can recreate these orbs, that most groups won't waste their time with orb photos.
