Paranormal Photos
Are they credible?
Throughout the years we have seen literally thousands of photos either given to us for evaluation or posted on many of the numerous web sites dedicated to paranormal photos. Spirit or paranormal photography is most definitely a very interesting field of research. However, there are a few caveats that must be included when viewing such photos. We sometimes post photos with unusual forms in them; some popularly called orbs, vortexes, ectoplasm, a misused word in this case, and if anything these photos should be referred to as a type of psychic mist, rods, strange light patterns, shadows, and a variety of other strange features caught on film or with digital cameras. There are authentic photos of paranormal energy, ghosts, spirits, and other unexplained anomalies to be found. However, before looking for a paranormal source, anyone viewing such photos should be aware that the majority of such photos are due to light refraction, reflection, dust, pollen, insects, glare, camera malfunctions, film and developing problems, camera straps, double exposure, and a host of other quite normal explanations. Often many so-called orb photos are the result of wishful thinking as well as the tendency of the human mind to attribute shape to what is really nothing more than a random and natural form. As the web site grows, we will add a section on how to take such photographs and examine them in an objective manner, seemingly one of the most difficult things to do for some is to be objective in analyzing their photos.
When is a photo an authentic paranormal photo? Even film experts have trouble agreeing on that question. One of the best answers is to know your equipment, type of camera, type of film, have some basic knowledge of photography along with what normal errors can occur with both film and photos. All natural causes from smoke, fog, insects, glare either internal or external, dust, pollen, insects, camera straps, smudges, fingers on lenses, hair in the way of the lens, extraneous light, and other causes of strange looking photos. If you can carefully rule these out to your satisfaction and if the photo you take is taken in an area where paranormal phenomena has been recently experienced and preferably is backed up by equipment that measures energy and atmospheric conditions at the time the photo was taken, then you can say that you possibly have a paranormal photo. In other words, you must adhere to protocols to avoid taking or believing that every strange photo is of paranormal origin, and you must have collateral evidence to support that an anomalous image might be of paranormal origin. We recommend that you read the book “Field Guide to Spirit Photography” by Dale Kaczmarek. It is full of excellent information on the subject. We, along with many other groups, attempt to examine our photos before listing them as being paranormal in origin. While some of the photos we use on the site have strange anomalies in them at times, only our section on unexplained photos meets our criteria for possible paranormal photos.

I've been capturing globual forms in my pictures for several years now, and the jury is still out
on the different types of energy being captured in photos, whether its digital, or film cameras.
Many different opinions about spirit energy seem to accumulate throughtout the internet, and what is,
or isn't spirit energy.
But if you want to try to capture paranormal activity, theres many do's and don'ts to the practice,
and knowing when the time is right to click the shutter, will get you one step closer to determining
whether what you have is paranormal or not.
But one thing is for sure, practice makes for an interesting adventure.
I'm building links to various sites on the internet that will give you some ideas to whats paranormal
or not. Keep in mind, that many of these are opinions, as there is not a sure science to what we do
capture. Dust is pretty recognizable if the conditions are right, and I would attempt to take many dust
photos to use for comparison to others you may capture. Other photos to use for comparison, would be rain,
snow, cigarrette smoke, car exhaust, windy conditions, hair, well you get my point.
Once you have your non paranormal pictures, you can take pictures where none of these conditions exist.
