The Return To
Thornewood Castle

Members of Evergreen Paranormal were invited to return to a place where spirits walk freely among us, leaving their essence of grace to those who find themselves taking a step back through time.
But for those who come to Thornewood Castle to rest, will often feel the presence of an era gone by, and imagine themselves dreaming of how life was lived and achieved in a time not forgotten in this gothic home. For those who open themselves up for the unexpected, their stay within the arms of Thornewood will leave them with a story to be told about the mysterys of the unexplained.

Arriving at 5:00 pm, we were greeted by Deanna in the circular drive. The beautiful spring day sure did show a vitality in the manor, with the added bonus, of increased paranormal activity. Upon entering the Ballroom, I was bombarded by energy on all sides. I could hardly hide my enthusiasm, as I stood in awe shivering with excitement to be back at this beautiful place. With newest member Harper Tasche with us, his smiles assured us that his sensitivity to the spirit world validated he was feeling as much energy as we all did, the ghosts and spirits of Thornewood Castle.

Deanna gave us a tour of the first level before we proceeded to the second level. Neil and Tasche were shown Chesters' haunted room, where they would stay after spending the evening following the restless spirits as they went about their routines.
We then went into all the suites and rooms on the second floor, making note of all the open rooms that we were allowed to investigate. The rooms all felt electric to me, but this was my fourth visit, and each visit highlighted the last visit. Annas suite, Grandview suite, Chesters room, the Gold room, and the Casa Blanca, even more grand as I remember.

On up to the third level to where Patricias and my room was. Patricia will be in the sewing room across from my room, the Rose Red room, named after the Stephen King movie. Lord Byrons attic was now complete on the reconstruction, and this wing on the south end of the third floor, was active. With Lord Byrons attic completed, there were also two new rooms on the third floor. The tv room that had a large screen tv, and the game room. The blue room at the opposite end of the Rose Red room, and the Presidential suite.
After settling in our rooms, gathering our gear, we separated for about an hour, getting a feel for what the nights plans would be.

Investigation Walk Through

March 28th, 2004
Investigators present were Patricia, Neil, Tasche & Maureen

Weather Conditions: Clear, 78 degrees, humidity 10 percent.
Indoor Temperature: Average 71 degrees
Moon: Age: 25.3%. 1st quarter at 11:48pm, 50.9% Full
Solar X-Rays: quiet
Geomagnetic Field: Active
Winds: SW at 4mph. Pollen count low-medium.

Although many of the rooms on the third floor felt electric, I was not able to gage many changes in the temperature readings. The readings remained within the 70-72 degree range, as did the temperature on the second level.
I set up the digital video camera on the third floor wing, south, while the group went thru all the rooms. The new tv room felt sad with its energy, and we couldn't remain in there long.

Here are sounds acquired by the video cam when the group left the third floor.

The second floor had its ongoing story of her own. Annas room felt calm at this point, even though I still disliked going into the changing room/kitchette. While going into the Grandview room across from Annas room, Tasche and I felt drawn to the balcony, and I was the only one that went out there at that time.

The Great Room felt as tho the activity was preparing for another night of ghostly gathering. While Patricia and I sat in the love seats by the fire, we both had a feeling that there were servants going back and forth from the kitchen to the Ballroom. I had gotten up to take a series of photos in the ballroom, and captured an orb moving about. The temperature remained about 71 degrees in the west area of the Ballroom. I did get one reading of 62 degrees by the threshold of the east ballroom entrance from the great room. Going back into the great room it raised back up to 71. I didn't feel a draft in this location, but one never knows.

The sun was about to set, when Patricia and I decided it was a good time to go out to the garden. I always loved the energy there just before the sun fell. The east side of the garden, always had that magical feel. I have gotten some pictures that I couldn't explain before in the same area. We walked clock wise along the raised path around the garden, taking photos and getting a feel for the area. The temps dropped to about 64 degrees as the sun set, and so did the activity seemed to pick up on our cameras.

Tasches Notes

Garden:
Felt very disoriented, like I was wearing someone else's glasses. Depth perception felt way off. Secondary gate (in hedge) feels ominous, creepy. Connected to second floor balcony somehow. 2nd visit at night: felt frozen in place, like a nightmare, felt awful -- couldn't move, couldn't cry out, couldn't look away from balcony; gasping in shallow sobs, felt like ice water on my back. Cherubs -- something moving very quickly between them, can't see what. Night garden -- the energy shape of a fast-moving, nonhuman, light-colored object (big cat/cougar?), couldn't get any more details. As seen from balcony, back R corner house had glowing light in it (like candles, but couldn't see any light source), also occasional flashes of light moving around by the cherubs.

First floor:
Great Hall: Oval table area: felt sudden sharp pain above my left eye, at the same instant that Maureen felt the same thing. Strong magnetic and electrical fields floating around (per Neil's meter). Piano: children's music book shifting around by itself. (Revisit front door.)

Second floor:
Anna's room: Free-floating diffuse energy "clouds". Windows -- seeing balcony out one window and the garden hedge gate out the other -- pacing between -- lots of activity! Agitated, trying to communicate but not being able to. Smelled glass cleaner when leaving at the end (new). Revisit Anna's bath.
