and their metaphysical properties

All around the world, cultures have been highly recognizing the use of Mother Earths crystals and stones in every
day uses, from spiritual, healing, protection, and physical empowerment. Traditional uses vary from culture to
culture, but the concept remains the same, crystals and stones will aid, defend, and heal us in mind, body, and
soul. The power within any stone, is within hands reach. Knowledge of the uses ranges widely, from alignment of
chakras, intuitive practices, to external lotions, potions, and internal elixers. Cultures from Native Americans,
Wiccans, to the Catholic faiths, all look highly into the stones.
Keeping your stones safe will ensure that their uses and powers remain intact. Often when purchasing new stones
many cleanse them and intend them for their personal use. Many people store them in small bags, or bowls near where
its easy access for them.
Cleansing your stones vary from holding them under running tap water(avoid chlorine), sea water, mineral or
spring water,(except for kyanite as it could harm this one) and imagining Creators White Light washing away all
accumulated energy. Other ways are to bury them in Mother Earth for atleast twenty four hours, to ground and cleanse
them. Some people burn sage and allow the smoke to engulf(except for amethyst) to cleanse away any accumulated energies.
Many spiritualists also believe that if you place your stones openly during the full moon also cleanses and enhances
the properties. Some will place their stones in the clearest view of the moon atleast two days prior and after each
full moon.
Intending and Programming your stones After you choose and clear your gemstone or crystal, it is a good
idea to dedicate it or program it. The purpose of programming a crystal or gemstone is to focus its abilities
on something you specifically need, thereby magnifying the stone¹s intent through your own. The purpose of
dedicating the stone to a high level healing energy or Goddess (Creator/God) is to protect it from negative
energy. A crystal or stone that is programmed and dedicated in these ways becomes much more powerful and useful
as a tool. This is a very simple process. Hold the crystal or gemstone in your hand and sense its energy. With
the stone being newly cleared, the energy will feel stronger and even more appealing that before. As you sense
this energy and appreciate it, ask quietly to be connected to the deva of the crystal or gemstone. Though not
animate, stones are living things and the deva of the piece is the stone¹s life-force energy.
Once you feel you have sensed what you can from the energy, think of what you will be using the stone for.
Think of these uses, then quietly ask the gemstone if it is willing to act in the way you wish. The crystals
energy may increase with a yes or seem to disappear with a no. If the stone accepts your intent, state in
your mind that it be so. Once a stone is programmed, it will hold its intent until you or someone else reprograms
it. To prevent any negative energy from attaching itself to your crystal you may with to dedicate it. To do
this, simply hold the crystal or gemstone in your hand and state clearly in your mind: ³Only the most positive
high-level energy may work through this healing tool². Focus on your intent for awhile, then end your sensing
(meditation) with "SO BE IT". The stone is now dedicated.
You may also choose to dedicate your gemstone or crystal to a specific healing energy, for example, to a
Goddess of healing. There are many healing goddesses, including Isis, Yemaya, Diana, and White Buffalo Calf
Woman. For stones programmed for protection, Hecate or Kali are strong protection Goddesses.
I've derived my list of crystals and stones into three areas of what their metaphysical properties are in concession
to the Healing of Mind, Body and Spirit. To promote Psychic, Intuition and Spiritual attributes,and for
